Georgia B. Barker joined Lesnevich, Marzano-Lesnevich, Trigg, O’Cathain & O’Cathain, LLC, as an associate in the spring of 2015, after receiving her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in May 2014. Georgia practices exclusively in the field of family law, handling divorce, child custody, child support, relocation cases and jurisdictional issues. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Georgia is a member of the Family Law Section and Young Lawyer’s Division of the New Jersey State Bar Association serving as their Bergen County representative, the New York City Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association.

In June 2016, Georgia successfully completed the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorney’s Associate Training in Chicago, Illinois, learning from top attorneys in classes with family law associates from across the country.

While in law school, Georgia was selected to participate in Fordham’s Family Advocacy Clinic. Her team prevailed in a suit against the New York City Department of Education, helping an underprivileged child with special needs obtain a free, appropriate, public education. For her commitment to public service, Georgia was awarded the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, cum laude. The award is granted to graduates who completed more than 250 hours of pro bono or community service work during law school.

Georgia was also an associate editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal, and a member of the Dispute Resolution Society, a highly selective competition team that specializes in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Georgia was a member of the International Competition for Mediation Advocacy competition team and was selected to compete in the International Commercial Mediation Competition in Paris, France, hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce.

After graduation from law school, Georgia was selected to participate in the New York City Bar’s New Lawyers Institute, a year-long training program for recent graduates, and served as a legal fellow to Justice Mark C. Dillon of the New York State Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department.

Georgia grew up in Toronto, Canada, with her four siblings, and received her undergraduate degree in Art History from the University of Winnipeg. Georgia is a member of the Family Law Section and Young Lawyer’s Division of the New Jersey State Bar Association (serving as their Bergen County representative), the New York City Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association.
