As an associate attorney at Lesnevich, Marzano-Lesnevich, O’Cathain & O’Cathain, LLC, Joseph DiPiazza is diligent in his law practice and committed to the profession. Since 2008, he has devoted his practice exclusively to family law matters and appellate practice. He has represented clients in courts throughout New Jersey who have been involved in complex matrimonial litigation with issues pertaining to child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution of assets, asset valuation and protection, relocation, emancipation, emergent appeals, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and post-divorce practice.
Joe’s representative decisions from his appellate practice include: Vander Ploeg v. Vander Ploeg, 2015 N.J. Super. Unpub. (App. Div. 2015), Tatham v. Tatham, 429 N.J. Super. 502 (App. Div. 2013), certif. denied, 215 N.J. 485 (2013) and Lenowitz v. Lenowitz, 2012 N.J. Super. Unpub. (App. Div. 2012).
Joe also devotes significant time to academic legal writing as an Associate Editor of the New Jersey Family Lawyer. In 2014, he authored a published article on the “The New Jersey Family Collaborative Law Act.” In 2012, he co-authored a published article entitled, “Settlement: The Client’s Prerogative.” In September 2014, Joe wrote an article on alimony reform, which appeared in The Record newspaper. Joe is also a regular contributor to the firm’s blog, Let’s Talk About Divorce.
Joe received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. While attending law school, Joe served on the editorial board of Dictum, a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Prior to entering private practice, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bonnie J. Mizdol, A.J.S.C. (former Presiding Family Court Judge of Bergen County) in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Joe is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Bergen County Bar Association, where he serves on both the Family Law Committee and Bergen Barrister Committee. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and in the United States District Court of New Jersey.
